Important Note [Copied from Spanish translation video:]
'FIRST OF ALL: The picket signs are not very important. Almost : avoid chaos I will suggest a specific formatting. This short text should also serve as a help for people who don't know about editing wiki articles.
If you do major changes in the translation, please give a short explanation. I suggest, put explanations and other comments (alternatives, reasons for change, doubts, questions...) in the following way below the line in question:
: ~~~ ''your text'' (Note that on each side there are to of these symbols: ' )
This way your username will appear a little to the right and your text will be in italics (this is good for distinguishing it from the translations)
[...] marks any other information, like information to the person who will incorporate the text in the video later. Some of the text need to appear as subtitles. Try to be as short as necessary, keeping in mind the speed of the voice. Also preformat the subtitles so that in one line has exactly the amount of words that would appear at a time. Between those lines one empty line is necessary
If possible, please start translating, checking or editing those section of the text that will appear in the form of subtitles, because those have to be synchronized and modified in a rather time-consuming process afterwards! And it's just a few days until March 15. These are the sections to start with!:
- 1. Anonymous Message to Scientology
- 2. Mark Bunker addressing Anonymous
- 3. Scientology PR person
- 4. journalists
- 5. statements of anonymous protesters
Please: Compare your amount of text with the amount of text in each specific part in the video. I mustn't take more space, more words more lines (it may just slightly exceed in very few cases). This is even more important for the subtitles, because they run fast and need to be read fast.

Tom Cruise Video
Subtitles [Tom Cruise] I think it’s a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist and it is something that you have to earn, and because a Scientologist does. He, or she has the ability to create new and better realities and improve conditions.
...when you drive past an accident, it’s not like anyone else. As you drive past, you know you have to do something about it, because you know you’re the only one that can really help.
...boy, there’s a time I went through and I said, "You know what..."
- January 13, 2008
- In the context of a
- lawsuit threatened against
- Andrew Morton for his
- unauthorized bio of
- Tom Cruise,
- Gawker.com posts
- this video for the first time.
- In an effort to suppress
- the spread of this
- video, Scientology
- sent Gawker.com a
- copyright infringement
- notice.
- Which they ignored.
- The video spread across the internet.
- Scientology's lifelong
- practice of suppressing
- its critics appeared
- to falter.
- Once the video
- had been run through the
- late night comedy circuit,
- the story should have
- ended.
- But it didn't.
- The events caught the eye
- of an internet group
- known as:
- ANONYMOUS
- Anonymous is a collection
- of people who meet
- namelessly on the internet
- to act upon ideas.
- Very few of these ideas
- ever become more
- than petty pranks.
Message to Scientology
[Text-to-speech] Hello, Scientology.
We are Anonymous.
Over the years, we have been watching you. Your campaigns of misinformation; suppression of dissent; your litigious nature, all of these things have caught our eye.
With the leakage of your latest propaganda video into mainstream circulation, the extent of your malign influence over those who trust you, who call you leader, has been made clear to us.
Anonymous has therefore decided that your organization should be destroyed.
[Text]
- With the release
- of this youtube video,
- it was clear that this
- would be different.
- The video received over
- in a matter of days.
[flying text]
- Anonymous systematically
- took down several
- Scientology websites over
- the course of the next three
- days.
- The website returned,
- but the message had been
- sent.
- Anonymous began to leak the
- Church of Scientology's
- secret documents.
- Awareness of their efforts
- spread to other websites
- and message boards,
- attracting more participants to the cause.
- By January 24th,
- Anonymous had laid the
- groundwork for their
- long term plans.
- Live protests were announced
- for London and Los Angelos.
- They passed on their plans
- to the media.
Mark Bunker speaks to Anonymous
[text]
- On January 27th, Anonymous
- received a message from
- Mark Bunker.
[MARK BUNKER] Hi, this is Mark Bunker from XenuTV
I've been hearing from a lot of members from Anonymous and a lot of other people, "Well, what do you think about Anonymous?"
And I thought it was kind of important to talk about this.
First off, I think it's incredibly exciting to have an army of young passionate people wanting to do something about Scientology's fraudulent abuse. It really is exciting. However, I think you're making some major mistakes that, that are going to hurt in the long run.
They're going to make *you* look bad. They're going to get you in trouble. They're going to get *us* in trouble; those of us who have been long time critics of Scientology. Scientology is good at tar and feathering us with other people's actions.
Keith Henson was a critic of Scientology, he still is. A few years ago, he responded to a post on alt.religion.scientology, the news group. Somebody had made a joke Tom Cruise's missiles. Aimed at Scientology's desert compound. Keith responded to that post. At the same time he was doing daily pickets of Scientology's compound in Hemet, California.
They got him arrested, they got him sent to jail. He just recently got out of jail. It may seem like fun and games, but Scientology is serious. And you have to be prepared.
Info about and reaction to Mark Bunker
- Mark Bunker is an Emmy
- award winning filmmaker
- who has been speaking
- out about Scientology
- for years.
- Mark, along with a handful
- of ex-scientologists, such
- as Tory Christman and
- Arnie Lerma, have been
- targets of Scientology
- harassment because they
- chose to speak out.
- For years they worked
- in relative obscurity and
- could now be harmed by
- being associated with
- any inappropriate actions
- from Anonymous.
- Rather than be ignored,
- Mark Bunker's words
- were embraced by Anonymous
- and he was dubbed
- "Wise Beard Man".
- His advice to protest
- peacefully would become
- the cornerstone of
- their plans as they
- moved forward.
- Mark Bunker.
- His words are wise.
- His face is beard.
Planned Protests and Lisa McPhearson
- Planned protests
- grew in number
- and it became clear
- that this would be a
- worldwide movement.
- The date for protesting
- was set...

- February 10, 2008
- Lisa McPherson's Birthday
---
- On November 18, 1995,
- Lisa, a Scientologist since
- the age of 18, was involved
- in a minor car accident.
- She was aparently
- not hurt, but her behaviour
- suggested mental instability.
- She was taken to a hospital
- where they wanted her to be
- psychologically cared for.
- Instead, Scientologists
- arrived and she checked out
- after a short evaluation.
- She went with them to the
- Scientology owned Ft. Harrison
- Hotel for "rest and relaxation".
- Under Scientology's
- care, Lisa McPherson died
- on December 5, 1995.
- The autopsy showed Lisa had
- deteriorated slowly, going
- without fluids for five to ten
- days, was underweight and had
- several bruises and bedsores.
- They also showed she had
- been unconsious for up to 48
- hours before her death and had
- dark brown lesions consistent
- with "insect/animal bites".
- Joan Wood, the coroner
- said that McPherson
- had probably been bitten by
- cockroaches.
- The coroner concluded that
- Lisa McPherson died of a
- pulmonary embolism
- caused by best rest and severe
- dehydration.
- Scientology responded by
- stating that Wood was lying
- and sued Wood for
- defamation.
- On February 10, 2008,
- Lisa McPherson's
- memory would
- have a new voice.
Suppressive Persons and Fair Game
- If you criticize Scientology,
- they will declare you an SP
- (Suppressive Person).
- In this order
- from L. Ron
- Hubbard, these
- people were
- declared
- SP's.
- 4. They are fair game.
- Scientology says that
- "Fair Game" is a term which
- is often intentionally used
- by critics to unfairly
- tarnish the Church.
- They claim the term simply
- meant that those expelled from
- the church would have to make
- their own way, relying on the
- justice system of society
- as their only recourse.
- This document, written by
- their founder,
- suggests otherwise.
---
- ENEMY - SP Order. Fair game.
- May be deprived of property or injured
- by any means by any Scientologist
- without any discipline of the Scientologist.
- May be tricked, sued or lied to or...
- DESTROYED
---
'Plaintiffs [the Church of Scientology] have abused the federal court system by using, inter alia, to destroy their opponents rather than to try to resolve an actual dispute... This constitutes extraordinary, malicious, wanton, and oppressive conduct.'
-U.S. Special Master James Kolts
---
- Scientology spokeswoman,
- Pat Harney, compared
- Anonymous to the Nazis
- and the Ku Klux Klan.
- "It's similar to burning a cross on
- somebody's lawn," she said.
- "It's a bunch of yahoos.
- They get on the Internet and they
- don't use real communication."
- -The St. Petersburg Times
---
- Anonymous had
- clearly been
- declared SPs by
- Scientology.
At the Protests
- ---this statement cannot enter into the video as there's text on the screen at the same time---
- [newsman] The Church of Scientology says Anonymous is a cyber terrorist group of religious bigots.
[Chris Wrapson, Church of Scientology:] [Subtitles] The actions of Anonymous will not interrupt the normal activities of the Church servicing it's parishioners and the local community and we're in coordination with the police to minimize the impact of this terrorist group.
---
- To avoid being targeted
- and harassed by Scientology,
- many protesters planned
- to wear masks
- to protect
- their identities.

- Dublin, Ireland
- An Anonymous protester reads aloud the
- claims of Scientology against Anonymous.
---
...television and recording industries, as well as the media to those who display pirated, copyrighted works.
"Anonymous" alleged "free speech" justification is belied by the fact that the video in question has been seen by millions. It is "Anonymous" that has repeatedly attempted to suppress free speech through illegal assaults on church Web sites so as to prevent Internet users from obtaining information from the church. They have also engaged in other harassment, including threats of violence in telephone calls, fax transmissions and e-mails, not to mention the Anonymous mailing of white powder to dozens of our churches, requiring the services of law enforcement.
"Anonymous" claims of altruistic purposes are no different than those heard from any terrorist or hate group. We are not the first to be targeted. Using Scientology's prominence, "Anonymous" hopes to garner more attention. "Anonymous" has publicly proclaimed its guiding materials to be the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf. Quite obviously, this group is not just anti-Scientology, it is anti-freedom of religion, anti-free speech and anti-American.
Religious bigotry of any nature is deplorable and profoundly affects the entire community. The hate crimes of "Anonymous" should be condemned.
Anyone desiring information about the Church of Scientology or the context of the pirated video should visit the Church website at www.scientology.org to form their own opinions.
The actions of "Anonymous" will not interrupt the Church’s normal activities serving its parishioners and the community, and the Church is working in coordination with local authorities to minimize the negative impact of this mask-wearing, cyber-terrorist group.
I ask you does this represent us here today?
No!

Words of Journalists and Protesters
[Newsreport1] This global protest. Held at dozens of cities across Canada and around the world. In front of Scientology property. The protesters were masked because of the church's history of litigation against its critics and sure enough the Scientology staffers were busy filming the protesters outside the {not sure} street offices. Protesters have a point when they say they fear being sued.
[Newsreport2]: It has had a history, yes, of litigating and going after people who have had opposing points of view.
[Anon]: We're out here protesting against the Church of Scientology. Not the church or the religion or faith or the right to have the faith of your choosing. We're protesting against the procedures and practices of the church and the harm they've caused to thousands
we're protesting their fair game policy their tax exemption status despite being operated like a business and the history of human rights violations.
Police action has been attempted in the past, but the church of scientology wields of great deal of legal influence because they maintain a very large, very well paid staff of lawyers.
As such they're able to avoid most legal repercussions simply by running most cases into the ground.
The average person simply cannot stand up against them in court because you will run out of money before they do and you will be forced to give up. As such police action cannot simply cannot be taken against because there's no way you can take them.
We're anonymous. We're people. That's all we are. We're people who've seen this and decided to take a stand.
